Ecological agriculture

Ecological agriculture is an agricultural system of production that excludes in a generic way the use of fertilizers and synthetic pesticides. It follows a balanced agricultural ecosystem, which is stable and productive.

To achieve this is it necessary to fulfil
a series of objectives

Create and maintain fertility in the soil.
Stop the deterioration of its structure.
Use techniques of appropriate cultivatio.
Not use toxic products or contaminants.
Control infestations and diseases biologically.
Produce food of a high nutritional quality
Optimise resources and local potential.

With this type of agriculture we will achieve to
roduce healthy food, rich in nutrients and full of flavour. Protect the health of the agricultural and other workers. Fertilise the land and stop the process of desertification. Support the retention of water and not contaminate aquifers.
Encourage biodiversity.
Maintain the habitats of wild animals.
Not waste energy.
Preserve rural life and agricultural culture.
Allow true food security.
Promote the creation of jobs.

Biodiversity

As ecological agriculture workers, we are guardians of biodiversity and we use it, on every level.
From the species’ point of view, diverse combinations of plants and animals optimise the cycles of nutrients and energy for agricultural production. When the ecosystem maintains its natural zones in and around the crop fields, together with not using chemical consumables, an adequate habitat is provided for the flora and wild fauna. To relate this to structures that offer food and shelter, it promotes the arrival of new species and beneficial organisms into the organic system, like pollinators and insects that benefit the battle against infestations.
Biodiversity is a very important basis for making many processes in our ecosystems work.

Compost

Life, all life, is the result of a long evolutionary process based on constants and interactive energies. In this complex process (we can interpret it as a constant battle for survival, or like a permanent collaboration) plants grow healthily and are productive when the soil is rich in organic material in a constant state of decomposition, which is all encouraged by a thriving microbial life.compost-aplicadoWe use organic material, composted on our own land, because the plants cannot absorb the minerals and nutrients of the ground themselves. They need the support of bacteria, fungi, and other living organisms in order to transform the crystal minerals into organic substances which are absorbable, or humus.compost-aplicadoBy composting and reintegrating the organic material in the cycle of life, we are contributing to the perpetuation of life, collaborating with nature’s own work. The practice of composting gives us the best fertilising element and enhancer of the fertility of the earth.

Good compost, apart from nourishing the soil and the plants that grow above it, provides health and the necessary strength for them to become healthy and resistant to any possible problems.

BIODYNAMIC AGRICULTURE

Biodynamic agriculture works hard to revitalise the land and plants. To fertilise the earth means that it creates further life
