Apricot
OIts origins are in Central Asia, in the area between the Black Sea and the North East of China, even though its scientific name "Prunus Armeniaca”comes from Armenia, the country in which it has been grown for centuries.It is a round medium sized fruit, with a range of colours starting from a yellow base with an over colour of red, ranging to an intense velvet red all over, depending on the variety. The flesh is medium firm and consistently light yellow or orange coloured.The fruit is juicy with an exquisite flavour including variations from sweet, to sweet and sour.
